About Us

T & R Australian Shepherds, Located in Stacy, Minnesota; we run a small dog breeding operation specializing in Australian Shepherd or Aussies. Our dams are raised here on our farm and bred to quality bred/champion studs from the finest stocks. We choose our studs by health, performance and bloodlines. Many of our dogs have very strong working lines. We believe strong working lines creates a very active, intelligent and biddable dog that will want to work to please and be a part of your family.

Our Story

It all started back in 2006 when we set out to find a family dog. The search lasted for more than a year and we came to a realization that there was a need and a gap that needed to be bridged for people that were on the same boat as us. Those were the people that wanted to buy a quality bred family dog from a place they can also be proud of, and know that there was no expense, time or love spared in the upbringing of their new puppy.

So with this in mind we set out and found Australian Shepherds to be our breed of choice. Our goals were simple:

  • Raise the best quality bred puppies.
  • Raise them in a loving home and open farm environment so they can socialize with other animals as well as people.
  • Start their basic and behavioral training while young.
  • Puppy’s examination, testing, vaccination and all breed required procedures are done by licensed veterinarians.
  • The new families besides having access to all puppy records from birth should also have access to parent’s records and heritage information.
  • The guidance and help for the new extended puppy family should never end at the door.
  • Puppies go home with full year of health guarantee.
  • An open door Take Back policy, so the puppies always have a home.
  • Puppy’s needs and well being is always first.
  • Puppies will always be a major part of the choice process for their new homes.
  • New puppy’s home and families are chosen to be the best match for the breed and the puppy.
And thus, T&R Australian Shepherds was formed. It has been a passionate journey through years. As you may see from our social feeds we are fortunate enough to still be in contact with most every one of our extended puppy families and it’s a joy for us to see the puppies blossom. At the end of the day, we still have our day jobs but for the few pups that we do breed, they (to the best of our abilities) are given the best upbringing and family choices! And yes, T&R Australian Shepherd is somewhere where we will be proud to buy our next puppy….

Our Breading Program

Our breeding program is dedicated to breeding the best traits in the Australian Shepherds and raising quality dogs as family and working companions. Our standard size pups are eligible for ASCA and AKC registration, and have a one year health guarantee.
Before breeding, a lot of thought went into the selection of the dam and sire. We wanted to breed foundation lines where temperament, willingness to please, brainpower, physical condition, and natural instincts are foremost.
Our puppies come from proven Champion and/or Hall of Fame pedigrees. They are intelligent, gorgeous, have healthy teeth/gums, and are loyal beyond belief. We have home raised them. We start them out right. With the proper care and training from you, they will be the BEST dog you have ever had!

Environment

Our dams are raised here on our farm and choose to breed to quality bred/champion studs. We choose our studs by health, performance and bloodlines. Many of our dogs have very strong working lines. We believe strong working lines creates a very active, intelligent and biddable dog, and one that will want to work to please and be a part of your family. We are a small ranch with a few breeding females and we only breed once a year.

Our puppies have been raised in an environment with good socialization with people, other dogs, cats, chickens and other livestock. They have the ability to explore the world around them.

Tested and Certified

The pups lineage are OFA hip-tested good and CERF eye-tested clear. Sire is OFA and CERF certified, Dam CERF certified. The puppies are up to date on vaccinations, de-worming, and vet checked before they go to their new perspective families. Shipping and/or delivery options are available.
